In order to inspire and inculcate the importance of a heart healthy lifestyle, Vidyamandir Classes (VMC) launched an exclusive photography competition and campaign on the occasion of World Heart Day 2021.
Under the banner name of #HealthyHeartHealthyLife campaign, VMC endeavours to do its bit in promoting the significance of leading an active life for the healthy and happy heart. The campaign received an overwhelming response, with over 500 entries from across the country.
The top listed photographs and selfies included running, exercising, dietary limitations, and fitness activities among many others. The main aim of this campaign is to strengthen heart health by encouraging people for lifestyle changes and gain knowledge about ways to be good to the heart.
VMC, apart from ensuring best quality education which inspires students to be lifelong learners also wishes to empower them to be productive and lead a healthy lifestyle. Through this campaign VMC intends to bring some hope to people that heart problems can be prevented and controlled for whole life by following a healthy lifestyle. While heart attacks were once considered to be a problem of the elderly is gradually falling apart. Increased dependence of the middle-aged population (both men and women) on poor lifestyle habits (smoking, alcoholism, poor eating habits and sedentary lifestyle) are attributing to a higher incidence of premature heart problems.
World Heart Day is celebrated every year on 29 September to increase awareness about cardiovascular diseases, their prevention and its impact. According to the WHO, cardiovascular diseases are the reason of around 30% deaths of all global deaths. Some of the most perilous risk factors leading to the heart disease and stroke are high blood pressure, high level of bad cholesterol, increased glucose level, smoking habit, inadequate intake of diet, fruit and vegetables, increased weight, and obesity.
