A brilliant student, she has been the Student Ambassador, Marketing Head & Secretary at GirlUp Sydney and even a Dean’s Lister for 6 Semesters.

Graduation is an important rite of passage for students, but for 21-year-old Anushka Rakesh, her graduation from SP Jain’s Bachelor of Business Administration program was particularly meaningful.

Not only was she named recipient of the prestigious Global Citizenship Award at SP Jain but her graduation was made more special because Anushka’s father is also a graduate of the school. Rakesh KP graduated from SP Jain with an Executive MBA degree in 2009.

“After spending nearly a decade in sales, I decided to pursue an MBA. I chose SP Jain as the faculty was a mix of dedicated professors and industry leaders. We got the opportunity to learn from their diverse experiences. The professors are exceptional mentors, and even after ten years of completing my EMBA, I have excellent relationships with them.”

My classmates were from leading organisations in the UAE and had varied work experiences. The program provided me with an incredible platform for peer learning, and the projects and group discussions, both in the class and out of it, hones my skills as a professional,” shares Rakesh. On completing his Executive MBA, Rakesh was promoted to Assistant General Manager at Muscat Electronics. He is currently working as a General Manager at Maxtouch Computers in Dubai.

“I was incredibly happy with my SP Jain experience, and I knew it would be the right place for my daughter to realise her dreams of becoming a global leader. So, in 2018, we enrolled Anushka in SP Jain’s tri-city Bachelor of Business Administration program. In the last four years, she’s travelled to Singapore, London, Dubai & Australia, was named to the Dean’s list, and completed seven internships during the course of her undergraduate journey! I can’t think of any other program that would have offered her these opportunities,” adds Rakesh.

“The program has helped me learn so much about different countries, and I’ve been able to visit many multinational companies during my time here. Having friends from around the world has helped me gain a good understanding of living in a multicultural environment,” shares Anushka. “After freshman year, I signed up for a 2-month summer program at the London School of Economics. It was important for me to step out of my comfort zone, live in a city like London, and challenge myself to learn new things.”

“My dad’s amazing; he has had a huge impact on my life. I’m so thrilled to say that I went to the same school as my father,” adds Anushka.

Armed with an Australian degree from SP Jain, Anushka is on to her next adventure. She will pursue a Master’s in Marketing at the prestigious Warwick Business School.
